Why you wanna tell me how to live my life!

Friday night we went to see Carol's boyfriend in concert. BON JOVI!! Floor- standing room only- at the Joint. It was AMAZING!! They played for 2 hours (not long enough). We just went crazy the whole time. I could've stayed all night. I think this was my 7th Bon Jovi concert. They always sound amazing! Robby came with us this time. He's hooked. Our little "groupie" group just keeps getting bigger. Can't wait to see his tattoo of Smirky when he gets it :)! I can't believe we have to wait another year to see them again. I can't believe my sister only gets to see her boyfriend once a year. That's not very often!

Here is a picture of my new hair. Not the best picture. It was Sunday and I had meetings all day long. So, I was beat. Anyway, I really like it. It's so much lighter. I don't miss the length at all. It was so heavy, and I always just put it in a ponytail anyway.

finally getting some things accomplished

It is amazing what you can accomplish when track break is over. The kids have been back in school for 2 weeks, and I have:
  • Cleaned and organized all 5 closets upstairs
  • Cleaned out the pantry
  • Cleaned the fridge
  • Cleaned the house
  • Cleaned my room (finally)

I know! That is a heck of alot of cleaning. Jim & I have merged our closets to make room for the 15 cases of food storage that Jim canned at the cannery. He's so domestic. I am now a crazy coupon lady, so I expect to have a surplus of goods very soon, and I need somewhere to stash it all. Do you have any idea what goes in to a year supply of food storage for 7 people?

I also donated about 15 bags worth of toys and clothes to the DI. I feel so much better now. I am very OCD, and not sentimental AT ALL. If we don't use it, I don't keep it. So, the clutter was really getting to me. I feel like I can breathe now.

Another new development...I cut my hair!! Actually, my sister cut my hair. She is fabulous! If anyone needs an amazing hair-dresser, call me and I will give you Carol's number. She is soooo good. Anyway, I feel so much lighter! I am ready for summer, and I don't even miss the hair. It was time. Besides, it grows so fast. Carol said it will probably all be back by August.

I will be posting pictures very soon of the hair and of the BON JOVI CONCERT!!!

Loving this!

You know that computer station that Jim was building? Well, here it is. I love it! It keeps the kids upstairs which means the downstairs can stay clean. It was time to get the computers out of the bedrooms. I need to see those computers at all times. It amazes me these days how computer savvy kids are. My girls can make a powerpoint presentation, then attach it in an email, and send it off to somebody else. Taylorblake have even designed their own websites before. I'm sure they could teach me a thing or two. It's not all fun and games, though. They spend alot of time on "ticket-to-read" and "v-math live".

Jim went up to Salt Lake for General YM training, and brought me home a million frames from IKEA! Wooooohooooo! Thank you, honey! I still need so much more from that store. Anyone up for a girls trip???

Baseball

Baseball season is on again and Lincoln is loving it! He's doing REALLY well this season. He almost always gets a hit. He's only struck-out once in the last 4 or 5 games, I think. I can see him sticking with this for a long time, and I'm glad, 'cause I love going to his games!

Dylan watched for about 2 seconds before she started playing in the dirt. But, I have to say that she is sooooo much easier to drag around lately! She's such a good girl. She's so sweet. I tried to tell her that we changed her name to "Diddygoodgirl", but she still says "No, I Diddybadgirl."

So, we have added Baseball twice a week to piano, dance, violin, Achievement Days, YW, YM, Preschool...you get the idea! Crazy, crazy!

I can't believe I am posting about the dog

Lincoln has been sooo sick the last few days, and yesterday he just plopped down and fell asleep right on the floor. I came downstairs and Indiana was chewing all over his hair. Lincoln didn't even notice, he was so out of it. I snapped a few pictures really fast, before I moved Lincoln onto the couch. We have to protect the hair, right???

Happy Birthday to my Man!

Just a quick post to wish my sweet hubby a happy birthday! He kinda took a back seat to Easter today, but, really, how do you compete with Easter? It's a really important holiday! Anyway, he got some awesome gifts and lots of love from his family.

Jim is the most smart, talented, spiritual, loving, amazing man I know. I am blessed to have him for Eternity. I couldn't ask for a better husband or father to my babies. I watched him this morning with Brooklyn as he patiently did her make-up with her new Princess make-up set. What a nice daddy! I love you, honey. I hope you had a great day, and you better get really good at golf because we are going to have to sell our first-born in the wilderness to pay for those lessons!!!

Proof...

that we did something fun during track break.

OK. Let's see.
  • Diddy managed to pull a 15lb bowling ball off the rack.
  • Brookie insisted on wearing her Gabriella costume.
  • None of the kids matched.
  • Twice, our ball got stuck in the middle of the lane- thanks to Diddy. Three adults there and none of us happened to see her grab a bowling ball and throw it down the lane. Ooops.
  • Good thing Carol & Kelly came along since my bowling hand is impaired.
  • The kids kept changing their names on the score board. We got all mixed up, because we couldn't remember who "Danger" and "Swetty" and "Shocker" were.
  • 3 1/2 hours later, we finally left the bowling alley.
  • We had a really good time!

This has been a really great track break. The kids have been really good. The house has stayed miraculously clean. The laundry is pretty much caught up. I'm actually not sure if I'm ready for them to go back to school. I could use one more week, I think. Of sleeping in, I mean.
