Taylor got braces last week. She hates them, obviously. It's going to be a long 2 years. At least she will have them off before High School. A year from now, Blake will most likely have braces, too. Ugh. It's really expensive.
This week, Blake, Brooklyn, and Dylan got hit with a horrible case of the flu. Two nights in a row, Brooklyn has had hallucinations, and last night she had a 105.5 fever. Scary. The first night, she was screaming, because the water was rushing toward her and she was going to drown, and last night she was screaming because the chainsaw was going to chop her up in little pieces. She looked terrified, and kept pointing like she really saw something there. This is the first time that we have dealt with hallucinations. I finally got her to calm down, and she trusted me that her mind was playing tricks on her.
Levi is getting close to walking. I am dying to get some pictures of him, but he's had a runny nose. He will be 1 in 2 weeks. Time has flown by. His nose cleared up, just before all the girls got sick. Hopefully, next week, I can get some good pictures to post on the blog. He is the cutest thing ever.
Lincoln has the President's Day Tournament coming up this weekend. We are all excited for that, except he has really early morning games. Blah. Just realized today that the bag that had his cleats, cup, and practice uniform in it probably got thrown away. Nice.
Valentine's Day was awesome! Jim got me new floor mats for my car. It might not sound very romantic, but I have been wanting them really bad. It looks so much cleaner now. I also decided that Valentine's Day is my worst holiday for snacking. I have had so many Reese's Hearts, and chocolate covered strawberries this week. Plus, I have baked two cakes already this week, and those are totally my weakness. I could eat frosting by the spoonfuls. Especially homemade frosting. Yum. Plus, 2 of Blake's friends have brought over brownies this week as a "get well" gift. I am trying to practice some self control. It works about half the time.
Our favorite thing to do, lately, is turn on Lincoln's iPod and just sing and dance. He has a pretty good playlist, and even Dylan knows all the words to the songs. My kids LOVE music. It makes me happy. Lincoln can't hear music without starting to dance. It's like a natural reflex. It doesn't matter where he is, he has to dance. Levi is the same way. I love my boys.
Lately, I am also loving shower time, hearing my girls sing Train and Bruno Mars to the top of their lungs. It echos throughout the whole house. It makes me smile.
I just feel happy. I really love my life. Yes, I am sooooo busy all the time. I work really hard. I start laundry first thing in the morning, and put my last load in the dryer at about 10pm, and there are always dishes to be done. The minute I think I have a break, the phone rings, or the baby needs to be changed. But, this is what I always wanted. This is all really rewarding to me. I feel sad for women who aren't fulfilled by being a wife, mom, homemaker. It's the best job in the world. I feel blessed to be so content; never needing something more. I have all I need.
