Primary...

I love Primary teachers! Especially my kids Primary teachers. Seriously, my kids teachers are the best. Lincoln's teacher sends him a postcard every week to remind him of what he learned on Sunday. Today, Brooklyn was telling me about Primary on Sunday...

Brooklyn- "Mom, King Benjamin came to my Primary on Sunday."
Me- "Really?"

Brooklyn- "Yeah, the King of the Nephites. He built a really high tower. He was a good King. He didn't make noone do his stuff. He did his own stuff. That's nice, huh?"

Me- "Yeah, that's really nice."
Yay for Primary!!

This girl...

...is tired of having her picture taken. She refuses to cooperate, and she thinks she is sooooo clever hiding behind those fruit loops!

Jack of all trades

Seriously, my husband knows how to do everything! Wednesday night, I came home from the Temple, and he had just whipped together this little computer station upstairs for the kids...made out of knotty alder with a dark chocolate stain (he knows me so well). It's only half finished, but it's enough to finally plug the kids computers in out in the open. We will have 3 computers up there very soon. I know, sickening, huh? These are hand-me-down computers from my computer geek husband (but in a good way :D ). Jim occasionally feels the need to upgrade the computer, and it is about that time again. Here he is building our massive new computer with 3 hard drives & 2 video cards???!! He has it plugged into the projector because the monitors (yes, plural) are plugged into the old computer downstairs. I don't know why we need 2 monitors. I guess in case Jack Bauer calls and needs us to look something up!

I'm definitely not complaining. I actually think our home full of EXCESSIVE technology gadgets is pretty cool. Who wouldn't want a DVR in every room, completely networked & hard-wired to your computer? And someday I will post pictures of the theatre room/master bedroom where our TV is actually a 75 inch projector screen that comes down out of our ceiling. Seriously, are all men like this?

"I've seen a million faces, and I've ROCKED them all!" -Bon Jovi

The Mother/Son school dance was last week. We were supposed to come dressed as rockstars. We were all over that, so here is our best rockstar attire. BTW, all of my clothes were borrowed from my sisters. You can't see in the pictures that I was wearing Carol's skinny jeans and my big black boots. Thanks for the arm socks Hailey!
Is that Lincoln or Joe Jonas? I can't tell.

That's our runway pose.
Ready to rock!!! There were not very many moms dressed up, but that's OK. I figured there wouldn't be. I actually told Jim," I bet you $10 that Chandra and I are the only ones dressed up (cause I knew she would dress up), but then Chandra didn't even go to the dance!! What happened to you, girl? Sunee had blue streaks in her hair, though, so it's cool.

So, for all of you who missed the dance, here's alittle recap...it was basically the boys running around the room in a conga line for about an hour! Lincoln finally decided he was done, so we went over to the Pancake House at Aliante Station and had dinner/breakfast. It was a fun night! I love spending time alone with my little man. He is a different boy when he doesn't have to compete with his sisters. Love you, Dude!

Pictures

I am loving my photography class. It's like photography for dummies which is perfect for me. The class is through UNLV, but at a camera shop and my teachers are this couple that have been photographers in Vegas for like 30 years. I am learning so much, and it is so interesting to me. I turned this picture in for homework this week. I learned that it is totally over-exposed, but the best part is that I learned WHY. My aperture and shutter speed were fine, but my ISO was way too high. I wasn't even aware of what my ISO was set at (I've never changed it). So, I learned what my ISO should've been at. I wish I had known that before because I like that picture of Dylan. Oh, well.
Brookie loves to sing. While Taylor's at school, she will listen to Tate's mp3 player for hours, singing along. She was downstairs waiting for me to take her to school, and I found her like this. I had to take a picture, because she looked so grown up. Guess what she was listening to??? That's right Bon Jovi- Livin' on a Prayer. That's my girl!

A day out with my girls

I hate to admit that I am not the mom that goes on all the field trips. Dropping the kids off for the field trips is more my style. However, Dylan is getting older and easier to take places, so I volunteered for Brooklyn's preschool field trip. We went to Andersen Dairy. I can't believe I have never been there, and I grew up here.

Afterwards, we went to the park and played...

Diddy made it all the way up to the top of the rock wall and then she got stuck. I told her,"Hold on really tight for a minute while I get a picture." I'm nice, huh? Wish I had something more exciting to post. We have managed to venture outside quite a bit this week. The weather has been nice and I have been trying to capture some good photos for my photography class. So far I've taken about 200 pictures and there are only about 4 that I'm not embarrassed to show. I know that I need to be more patient and learn little by little. But I just want to know everything right now so I can take amazing pictures!

I know you're all dying to know what happened with the toilet...

Jim took off the toilet, and tried to unclog it with an Auger. It just would not unclog. We ended up having to buy a new toilet, and I'm glad 'cause the other one is pretty scratched up now. The new one is cuter, if it's possible to have a cute toilet. It's also a 5 star flusher! I asked Jim to hammer into the back of the old toilet. Just out of curiosity. I wanted to see if Diddy had really flushed Ariel & Belle. She's 2, she doesn't always know what she's saying. Guess who we found!? The lost princesses!

By the way, after we finished the toilet project, we realized the kitchen faucet was leaking. We had to replace it, and now I have a cute faucet, too. We have never lived anywhere long enough to have to start replacing things. I guess we should get used to it, 'cause I don't plan on ever moving.
