Baseball & Halloween Parade

Lincoln has gotten really good at baseball this season. He loves it, and I love going to watch his games!
This is me, playing around with PhotoShop. Still trying to figure out this new camera.
Every year, the kids' school does a Halloween Parade. It's so fun to see all of the costumes. This year they zigzagged back and forth across the blacktop. It's such a good idea! I think every school should do it.
Taylor is Boba Fett (from Star Wars). My girls pick the most random costumes. Last year she was Abraham Lincoln (beard and all), and the year before she was Elvis.
Blake is a Clone Trooper. Last year she was a hot dog. Is it too much to ask to have a Pop Star or a Fairy Princess???? I guess we will leave that to Brooklyn.
My little Darth Vador! I love that boy!!
Brooklyn is Princess Leah. We have had wig issues (it itches), so we tried to do her hair like Princess Leah, but her hair is too short. Oh, well. It looks more like "Shrek" ears to me.

I snapped this one of Dylan right before the parade. I couldn't leave her out.

New Calling

My head has been swimming the last couple of weeks. I really thought that I was exempt from this calling, since my husband is the Stake Young Men's President. I have been in shock & denial, but at the same time, grateful that I wasn't released from Young Womens. Yesterday I was called to be the Young Women's President. I'm sure I will love it. I love the women I work with. There is alot to take in and think about and plan, but my heart is definitely with the Young Women, and I am really excited!

"Hey, it's Elphaba!!"

Every Friday, in Blake's class at school, the teacher gets a mystery reader to come read to the kids. Yesterday, it was my mom's turn. She read a book called "Piggy Pie", and of course she wanted to come in character. She was amazing-very animated! The kids loved it! When we walked in the class, one of the kids yelled, "Hey, it's Elphaba!" (from "Wicked") Thanks mom! I am so thankful that my kids have Grandparents that are so involved in their lives.

I am in love!!

My birthday is in a couple of weeks, and Jim gave me my present early. I got a new camera!!! I have never had a fancy camera before. He got me a Canon Rebel xsi with a couple different lenses and accessories. I couldn't wait to try it out. I really have no idea what I'm doing, but I took some pictures of the kids today. It was highly enjoyable, and I found myself smiling and very relaxed after our little photo shoot...

What do you mean Roxy's not a girl?

A couple of days ago, I was upstairs straightening up in Taylor and Blake's room. I decided to check on the hamsters to make sure they were OK. Oh, yeah, we got another hamster. That makes 2 little rodents. Both female. The kids thought Roxy was lonely, and needed a friend, so we picked up Yoda. Well, Yoda is not very nice to Roxy, and I have noticed that she was getting really fat, so I thought she was bullying Roxy and hogging all the food. So I go in to check on the hamsters, and Yoda is up in the hamster wheel cleaning and feeding her 8 little hamster babies!!! Turns out, Roxy is a boy!!! Of course, I freaked out and made Jim come home from work to take care of it. We took Yoda and the babies back to Petland, where we can visit periodically and see how they are doing. Now we are back to just Roxy, who is a boy, but has a girl's name. The kids are wondering... do we change the name? We are already used to the name Roxy.

I have to warn you, the pictures are disturbing..

I'm a blog loser

So, here's my attempt at a decent post, since I haven't had one for a while. For those of you who have been asking, we are all starting to feel much better. We have all had our turn with croup. Brookie was the last one to get it. I'm sure she will be fine in a day or two. Thank you all for your love and concern, and especially for all the yummy treats! We have felt very loved!

The Ward Halloween Party was sooooo much fun! I am so grateful to all of those who worked so hard and took the time to make the party fabulous! I haven't been to a Ward Halloween Party that was that much fun, since I was kid! I still remember those parties, and I know that my kids will remember this one. They had a blast!

Here's my little Yoda. She was the center of attention all night, and loved every minute of it!

I saw this pumpkin online, and we knew we had to do it for our pumpkin carving contest! Jim added all the mutilated pumpkins around it. I thought it was a nice touch. We won first place! The kids were thrilled about that!

I don't know what to call this post

I just finished posting a really long post about how amazing Youth Conference was, and how nice it was to spend a weekend with my husband. How grateful I was that my parents could come stay with the kids this weekend.

I was blogging about how crazy things are around here, that I don't even have time to post a real post! It was a really long, much needed post, that nobody will ever see because Diddy Bad Girl just turned the computer off as I was about to publish it! I must have been typing pretty fast, because it didn't even auto-save a draft. Sorry, y'all! I will try to post soon. I am off to take Blake to the doctor. She is really sick. She has been wheezing all night, and has a fever, and when she talks she sounds like a scary monster!

Silly Girls

Hi its Blake and I have my friend Megan. We were bored so we decided to be dentists. We had tools (silly ones) like gloves, cupcake wrappers for masks, and heres the silly part, I Blake was the dentist (first) so for my tools I got a spoon and a plastic spoon and got water to rinse down the medicine wich I mixed water, milk, and tampico. (orange juice) I told her it was egg nogg because it looked like egg nogg.

Well Lindsey and Taylor were doing Easy Bake Oven (as you can see in the backround) So we decided to do easy bake because we got tired of playing dentist. We baked Macn'cheese it was delicious.

Embarassing Mom Moments

Something kind-of embarassing happened last week at the doctor's office. It has caused me to reflect on all the different ways my kids have completely embarassed me in public.

Preface: Diddy cannot say her "S's" to save her life. She talks really, really well, but her "S's" come out with an "F" sound. Example: Mom, can you put my Foos on? (shoes).

So, we walk into the doctor's office, and what is one of the little boys in the waiting room eating? A sucker. So, at the top of her lungs, Diddy starts yelling, "I want a sucker, mom"! Over and over again. You can imagine the word that is coming out of her mouth (sorry if it puts a bad word in your mind). Everyone in the office is staring at me with their jaws totally dropped open. I can't help it people! This happens to me at the bank, too!
